We've already heard that, when it comes to changing your bed sheets, the optimum amount to do so is once a week. This keeps your sleeping area fresh, clean and free from bacteria. But is this the same for your pillowcases?
According to Australian cleaning expert, Shannon Lush, pillowcases should be changed a lot more often. In fact, they should be changed every other day!
"Pillowcases should be changed every second day without fail," Ms Lush told news.com.au. "It's against your face, and your hair holds more dirt than anywhere else on the body. It's like a mop."Most people don't wash their pillows enough, and it's really vile. It collects old skin cells, which we shed especially when we are asleep. The pillow is a major cause of blackheads."
